General Council Meetings are held twice a month in the Council Chamber at 7pm, and meet to discuss issues that affect the local community.

The Corporate and Transport Committee meets on the first Monday of each month in the Banksia Room at 6pm. The meeting covers financial and legal affairs of Council, structural and general policy issues and economic development of the city.

The Cultural and Environmental Committee meets on the third Monday of each month in the Banksia Room at 6pm. The meeting covers services for residents, management of parks, bushland and recreational facilities, heritage, the library, and arts and cultural development.

On 26 June 2010, Council resolved to amalgamate The Concourse Steering Committee with the Corporate and Transport Committee.
