Agendas & Minutes Addressing Council
To address Council on an agenda item you must apply in writing or via email to the Administrative Services Branch before 12 noon on the day of the meeting.
To address Council about an issue not on the agenda, if you let Council know before 12 noon on the day of the meeting you can speak at the Open Forum part of the meeting on any topic.
People wishing to submit late correspondence must give it to Council before 12 noon on the day of the meeting.
If you have an interest in a matter on the agenda you can have that matter discussed early in the Council meeting, after Open Forum, by asking at the desk located immediately outside the Council Chamber. When your item is called by the Mayor, you should inform the Mayor of the matter you are interested in. Having a matter brought forward in the Council meeting does not give you the right to address Council on that matter.
Council Chamber Protocol provides information on attending Council meetings and addressing council.
