The Better Business Partnership is a project designed to improve the sustainability of businesses on Sydney’s North Shore. It is run in partnership between Ku-ring-gai, North Sydney and Willoughby City Councils and is assisted by the NSW Environmental Trust and Sydney Water’s Every Drop Counts Business Program.
At the Better Business Partnership we work with businesses to save money through reduced energy and water bills and waste, to improve their environmental performance and provide promotion and recognition of business’s actions. Businesses can also look at opportunities to support their local community and staff and switch to sustainable transport and purchasing options.
The Better Business Partnership also facilitates the NSW Government's Energy Efficiency for Small Business Program (EESBP) which offers a 50 per cent reduction in costs (up to a maximum rebate of $5,000) for buying and installing energy efficient equipment. You will get an on-site assessment and an action plan, and up to four hours free support to coordinate installation. Find out more about the Better Business Partnership and the EESBP.

Sustainability Advantage helps medium and larger sized organisations improve their environmental performance, reduce costs and add value to the reputation of their business.
Businesses that join Sustainability Advantage receive support to identify opportunities and implement measures to lower costs of, for example, resources and energy; improve productivity; and enhance their reputation as a supplier and employer of choice. City Switch Green Office is a program tailored to commercial office tenants to assist in reducing energy consumption within office buildings. Find out more about City Switch.
Join the ClimateClever Office program and receive a subsidised NABERS Energy management plan through a Council-preferred consultant. Tenants also have the option of joining CitySwitch Green Office for free. Find out more about the ClimateClever Office program.
Businesses in the council areas of Willoughby City, Hunters Hill, Ku-ring-gai, Lane Cove, North Sydney and Mosman can seek information on quality renewable technology products and access free quotes and substantial discounts on solar PV systems, rainwater tanks and solar or heat pump hot water systems through the ClimateClever Shop.
