Earth Hour

Turn Off the Lights to Help Halt Climate Change

The next Earth Hour will be held on Saturday, 30 March 2013 between 8.30PM and 9.30PM.

Earth Hour is an annual global WWF climate change initiative.

Help raise awareness of the need to take action on climate change. Join the rest of the world and turn off your non essential lights and other appliances for one hour.

Earth Hour is held on the last Saturday of March as this is around the time of the Spring and Autumn equinoxes in the northern and southern hemispheres respectively, which allows for near coincidental sunset times in both hemispheres, thereby ensuring the greatest visual impact for a global ‘lights out’ event.

In 2012, four local events were held by Naremburn, Artarmon and Northbridge Progress Associations in the Willoughby City area:

For more information on local events, phone 9777 1000 or view events in Diary Dates.
