The Willoughby Symphony comprises an Orchestra and Choir. Musicians in the Willoughby Symphony come from all walks of life. They are amateurs, professionals, retired musicians, parents, students, music lovers and everything else in between. Together they produce amazing music.
Auditions for principal wind, brass and percussion positions are held as vacancies arise. Wind, brass and percussion musicians who are interested in casual opportunities with the orchestra should send expressions of interest to the Head of Venue Development, Tim.Long@Willoughby.nsw.gov.au.
String auditions are held approximately four times per year. Auditionees are required to prepare four orchestral excerpts and a short own-choice piece without accompaniment. To audition, fill out the tutti strings application form and send to the Head of Venue Development, Tim.Long@Willoughby.nsw.gov.au. Audition excerpts: Violin - 216 KB, Viola - 164 KB, Cello - 207 KB and Double Bass - 165 KB.
To audition for the Willoughby Symphony Choir, fill in the Choir application form and email it to krithiare@bigpond.com.
