09 February 2017
12.30pm – 1.30pm, Tuesday 7 March
Chatswood Library on The Concourse
Lower Ground, 409 Victoria Ave, Chatswood
Back by popular demand, Dr Nicola Gates returns to Chatswood Library to speak about her book, A Brain for Life, as part of the Talks@Willoughby programme.
As a Neuropsychologist, Dr Gates has drawn on cutting-edge research to explain the amazing roles our health and fitness, as well as mental activity, play in brain health. A Brain for Life reveals why the way we live has a powerful effect on our brain, and by making simple lifestyle changes, we can keep our brains strong as we age and reduce our risk of dementia.
Nicola Gates PhD is a clinical neuropsychologist, neuroscientist, and conjoint lecturer with the Centre of Healthy Brain Ageing UNSW. She earned her Doctorate in Neuropsychiatry investigating physical exercise, cognitive training and psychological wellbeing for dementia prevention and continues to investigate health promotion and disease prevention.
“This talk forms part of Willoughby’s extensive program of community activity offered through our library services,” said Willoughby Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney. “The library has become a hub of community activity and an exchange of ideas that extends well beyond traditional library services,” she said.
Lindfield Bookshop will have copies of the author’s books available on the day for sale and signing.
Bookings are essential.
