Amelia Farrugia is 'The Songbird'

Stunning soprano Amelia Farrugia sings her favourite songs from opera, operetta, and the Great American Songbook in The Songbird, the third concert of the popular lunchtime series, Live at Lunch.

One of the brightest stars of opera in Australia, Amelia will dazzle audiences with her spellbinding voice as she performs beloved works by Gershwin, Bernstein, Lehar and Massenet. Accompanied by ARIA Award-winning pianist, Tamara-Anna Cislowska, and international flautist, Jane Rutter, The Songbird is an unmissable experience for lovers of this classic repertoire.

In high demand as a concert artist, Amelia has appeared with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, all of the ABC Symphony Orchestras, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra, and Australian Philharmonic Orchestra. More recently, Amelia covered Ms Renee Fleming & Ms Susan Graham as The Merry Widow for the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 2015.

Tamara-Anna Cislowska is one of Australia’s most acclaimed and recognised pianists, and winner of the 2015 ARIA award for ‘Best Classical Album’ for her landmark recording, Peter Sculthorpe: Complete Works for Solo. She has performed across five continents, winning international prizes in London, Italy and Greece, including the Rovere d’Oro.
