Ignite your imagination at Chatswood Library this August with National Science Week! Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology, National Science Week is held from 13 to 21 August and features more than 1000 events held around Australia.
Bellies, Brains and Bones: What Science Is Telling Us About Our Bodies
6pm – 7pm, Tuesday 16 August
A panel of award-winning presenters from the national FameLab competition for science communication will explain what science is revealing about the human body. If you’re studying science or just interested in learning more about the human body – this one is for you!
Set Sink or Set Sail?
3.45pm – 4.45pm, Wednesday 17 August
Free event – no bookings required
Children aged between 8 and 12 years can have fun testing their engineering skills to try and build an unsinkable boat. No bookings are required – just drop in and test your boat building skills!
“National Science Week is a great opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of Australian scientists and encourage younger generations to take an interest in learning about science,” said Willoughby Mayor, Gail Giles-Gidney.
