The Willoughby community are invited to celebrate the re-opening of Willoughby Park Centre with an Open Day from 10am-2pm on Saturday 10 September.
With an official opening by Willoughby Mayor, Gail Giles-Gidney at 10.30am, there will be a range of activities for all ages held throughout the day including class demonstrations, a Heritage Display, children’s art and craft, tours of the new multi-purpose rooms, a jumping castle, as well as face painting and balloon twisting (from 11am).
A coffee cart will be available and Willoughby Roos will provide a sausage sizzle on the day.
Recent renovations to Willoughby Park Centre have improved access and facilities within the Centre, including the provision of:
- Two spacious community rooms
- Refurbished Art Studio
- New male and female toilets
- New sliding doors to east terrace of Chowne Hall
- Demolition and rebuilding of Clive Reid Pavilion and upgraded playing field change rooms
- Improvements to pre-school outdoor area
"Willoughby Park Centre is a vital community hub, offering a variety of art and recreational activities and programs for adults and children to get involved in," said Willoughby Mayor, Gail Giles-Gidney.
"The refurbishment aligns the Centre with the exceptional services and facilities we aim to provide across Willoughby City Council," she said.
