Council's Early Childcare Educator Wins National Award
29 June 2016
Willoughby City Council’s Yuki Takahashi-Braybrook has taken out the National award for Early Childhood Educator of the Year at the recent 2016 Australian Family Early Education & Care Awards Gala.
This follows Yuki winning the NSW Early Childhood Educator of the Year Award in May.
Yuki, who works at Council’s Devonshire Street Childcare Centre in Chatswood, will receive a $4000 Training Grant from One World for Children and a $5000 Professional Development Grant from Springfree Trampoline.
Yuki’s nomination by parents of the Devonshire Street Childcare Centre is recognition of her three years of service as an inspirational Early Childhood Teacher and Educational Leader. Yuki plans to use her training grants to enhance the skills and knowledge of all the staff at the centre, with a focus on curriculum and programming.
"Yuki is a dedicated and passionate early childhood educator who enriches the lives of children and families through her program and practice at Devonshire St Children’s Centre. Yuki provides leadership and inspiration to her colleagues at the centre through her mentoring role as educational leader. Congratulations to Yuki on this amazing achievement," said Emma Davies, Supervisor at Devonshire Street Children’s Centre.
"Congratulations Yuki! This is a wonderful acknowledgement of your outstanding practice in early childhood education and care. Your dedication and care is appreciated enormously by Council and also the children and families of Devonshire Street Childcare Centre," said Willoughby Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney.
