North Shore’s own ‘French Knight’ leads fifth season at The Concourse

Legendary Australian Flautist, Jane Rutter leads the return of the popular Live at Lunch concert series for its fifth season at The Concourse – commencing with the enchanting Flute Spirits & the Seasons

In 2017, Jane will bring her renowned French influence to this popular concert series, featuring some of the best Australian performers including opera superstar, Teddy Tahu-Rhodes, Aboriginal didgeridoo player Blak Douglas, ARIA Award-winning pianist Tamara-Anna Cislowska, brilliant soprano Amelia Farrugia, piano virtuoso Simon Tedeschi, visionary violinist Christopher Latham and many more.

An unforgettable series of intimate concerts, the 2017 Season is a collection of brilliant masterworks which pay homage to the Australian Dreamtime, the moon, lullabies and love songs, Broadway Classics, French composers of WWI and the artworks of Monet.

In 2016, Jane was awarded the prestigious French Medal, Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres in recognition of her significant contributions to Arts and Literature. She was officially decorated by His Excellency Mr Christophe Lecourtier, Ambassador of France to Australia.

With 22 solo albums under her belt, Jane is an expert in the French Flute School, which leads the world in sound and technique on the instrument. She is the only Australian to have been invited to the prestigious International French Flute convention, La Vième Convention de la Flûte Française 2016.

“The 2017 Live at Lunch Series features six concerts of the highest quality, infused with the accessibility, passion and intimacy that is the signature style of Live at Lunch,” says Artistic Director, Jane Rutter.
