Willoughby Shorts Film Festival - Entries Close 23 September!

There’s less than two weeks left to submit your film to this year’s Willoughby Short Film Festival, with entries to Sydney’s fastest growing student film festival closing on Friday, 23 September.
Open to students 12-25 years, Willoughby Shorts encourages young filmmakers to express themselves creatively through short film, and to showcase their talents in a public forum.
Original films of 10 minutes or less will be judged in the following categories for a chance to win a from a prize pool of $4,000:
- Best Animation
- Best Documentary
- Best Narrative
- Best Film
The best entries from this year’s competition will be screened on the Urban Screen on The Concourse in Chatswood at a special awards night on Friday, 28 October. Attendees can enjoy free popcorn and have their photo taken on the glamorous red carpet on arrival! Public seating and blankets will be provided.
"The Willoughby Shorts Film Festival highlights the incredible skill and talent of student filmmakers from all over Sydney and beyond, offering well-deserved recognition and creating career development opportunities for those with aspirations to be the next Stephen Spielberg or Martin Scorsese," said Willoughby Mayor, Gail Giles-Gidney.
"I encourage all students from 12-25 to apply for this great opportunity and can’t wait to see the shortlisted films showcased on the award night," Mayor Gail added.
