Citizenship

People attending a citizenship ceremony

Becoming an Australian citizen gives you a number of rights such as voting and the ability to leave and re-enter Australia, but also comes with responsibilities such as obeying Australian laws and defending Australia if the need arises. There are eligibility requirements, an application process, an interview, and then the ceremony.

How to apply for Australian Citizenship

For more information about becoming an Australian citizen, visit Department of Immigration and Border Protection or phone 131 880.
