Compliance Unit Officers detect and report smoky vehicles to the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water (DECCW). These reports may result in a fine for the vehicle owner.
Members of the public can also report a smoky vehicle online to the DECCW. If you see a car which emits visible smoke continuously for at least 10 seconds, you can report the car to the DECC. Your personal details will remain confidential.
