Do you dream about seeing your art splashed over a building in our city?

Willoughby City Council is giving local artists the chance to transform drab walls into colourful works of art. The Mural Project is a highlight of this year’s annual 2024 Emerge Festival, a six-week event that celebrates creativity, diversity and local talent.

Willoughby City Mayor Tanya Taylor said she believes creating impactful public art can unite, foster a sense of community pride and create a vibrant city.

Artworks submissions should celebrate the rich diversity of Willoughby City’s people, languages, beliefs and the beauty of our natural environment. Applications close 2 August and artists are encouraged to submit concepts for one or more sites.

The winners’ designs will come to life in September and will be officially unveiled during the 2024 Emerge Festival during the first two weeks of October.

To apply, email your concept and supporting documentation to events@willoughby.nsw.gov.au.
