'Co-Existence' at Vivid Sydney at Chatswood

Taking inspiration from Chatswood’s diverse culture and history has delivered a spectacular projection for Chatswood from Hungarian 3D projection mapping leaders “Limelight”.
Limelight is a collective of artists creating 3D projection mapping artworks and light installations globally for over a decade. The collective, along with a specially mentored selection of emerging talent, have produced exclusive, modern artistic content which will be projected onto the massive façade of Chatswood’s premier performing arts venue, The Concourse.
“The 3D mapped projection illuminates visual and metaphorical connections between the building façade and the theme of human ‘Co-Existence’ in love, peace and harmony,” a spokesperson for Limelight said.
With an unusual dramatic composition, the piece is divided into different acts similar to a theatre play.
“Each act presents different scenarios in which individuals and communities meet, exploring the contrasts of exclusion and integration or acceptance and isolation.
“The stories are told in various visual languages from black and white geometrical shapes to colourful abstract characters, always integrating the physical structure of the building and augmenting it into a new metaphorical world of existence.’
Willoughby City Council produces Vivid Sydney at Chatswood and for the first time welcomes the Limelight Academy, the world pioneers in 3D projection mapping and the creators of ‘Co-Existence’ at The Concourse. Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney is delighted Chatswood will feature global artists and said the work produced was outstanding. “We are confident that we have delivered our best-ever event showcasing world class talent, reflecting the cultural diversity of our area.”
Vivid Sydney at Chatswood runs from 24 May to 15 June.
