Children are invited on an extraordinary journey across the wild and verdant landscapes of Scotland at the Willoughby Symphony’s Scotland the Brave Children’s Concert this July at The Concourse, Chatswood.

Introducing children to classical music in a fun and engaging way, Chief Conductor and Artistic Director, Dr Nicholas Milton AM will lead an interactive performance of Mendelssohn’s gorgeously imaginative Scottish Symphony that will captivate children of all ages.

This one-hour concert is a unique opportunity to witness first class music making by Australia’s leading community orchestra, under the direction of their internationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated Artistic Director.

The performance will be followed by free face painting and craft activities from 3pm – 4pm in The Concourse foyer, as well as an opportunity to meet the musicians and learn more about the instruments of an orchestra. Children are also encouraged to dress up in their best Scottish attire - with prizes for best dressed!

“Our annual family concert is always a highlight of the year, where children can really get to know how the music is put together and experience a symphony orchestra in a relaxed and fun-filled atmosphere,” Dr Nicholas Milton AM said.  “Scotland the Brave is a perfect fusion of entertainment and education - a wonderful way to for children to develop an understanding and lifelong appreciation for classical music,” he said.
