Holiday Roadworks: Plan for Warringah Freeway delays

Willoughby City Council is advising residents to prepare for delays if travelling on the Warringah Freeway this holiday period as Transport for NSW undertake roadworks  from 10pm on Thursday 26 December 2024 to 5am Sunday 26 January 2025. These works, impacting travel between Cammeray, Neutral Bay, and North Sydney, will involve multiple temporary lane and ramp closures, leading to longer journey times.

Key Details:

  • Dates: No works on Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day.
  • Impacts: Temporary lane and ramp closures expected to cause travel times similar to weekday peak hours.
  • Alternate Travel: Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, consider public transport, and allow extra time for trips. Visit transportnsw.info for public transport options.

Road and Lane Closures:

  • Southbound on-ramps:
    • Willoughby Road, Falcon Street and Mount Street to Cahill Expressway (eastern-side ramp)
  • Northbound on-ramps:
    • Falcon Street and Berry Street
  • Northbound off-ramp:
    • Arthur Street (from Bradfield Highway between Pacific Highway and High Street)
  • Reversible carriageway and Ernest Street on/off ramp:
    • Note: This ramp will permanently reopen for northbound travel only.
