Exhibition showcases 2023 HSC artistic talent

Willoughby City Council is proud to announce the commencement of an engaging exhibition, highlighting the creative prowess of budding artists from the 2023 New South Wales Higher School Certificate (HSC).

The exhibition, curated by Willoughby City Council, offers a captivating glimpse into the vibrant imaginations and diverse perspectives of the next generation of artists. Attendees can expect to be immersed in a rich tapestry of creativity as they explore a variety of themes and mediums presented by the talented students.

Art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to witness the artistic evolution and expression of students from the following participating schools:

Bradfield Senior College

Chatswood High School

Glenaeon Rudolf Steiner School

Mercy Catholic College

St Pius X College

Willoughby Girls High School

The selected artworks on display delve into an array of compelling subjects, ranging from immigration and poverty to mental health, identity, and the societal impacts of technology. Through their creations, these young artists invite viewers to contemplate pressing issues and explore the complexities of the human experience.

Willoughby Mayor Tanya Taylor expressed how important it was to be celebrating the works of the students which are a product of numerous terms of experimentation, refinement, and pure sheer hard work.

"We are thrilled to provide a platform for these aspiring artists to share their unique perspectives and engage with the community through their art," Councillor Tanya Taylor, Mayor of Willoughby City Council expressed.

Members of the public are invited to attend the exhibition and support our local emerging artists.

The exhibition is open Thursday 29 February up until 24 March at Art Space on the Concourse, Chatswood.
