Council under Section 25 of the Heritage Act 1977 has made an Interim Heritage Order over the property 43 Donnelly Road, Naremburn (Lot 1 in Deposited Plan 115889, Lot A in Deposited Plan 341975 and Lot 1 in Deposited Plan 320984), except for all of the land identified as Item 1160 listed in Schedule 5 to the Willoughby Local Environmental Plan 2012, described as 'St Leonards Church (including original interiors)'. The Interim Heritage Order was gazetted on Friday 26 May 2023.
Under Section 28(1)(d) of the NSW Heritage Act 1977 Council is required to bring notice to the residents of Willoughby Local Government Area that Council has made the Interim Development Order over 43 Donnelly Road, Naremburn.
The reason for the Order is because Council considers that on further investigation it may be found to have local heritage significance, and that the Council considers that it is being or is likely to be harmed.
The Interim Heritage Order will allow further heritage assessments to be undertaken to inform an understanding of the heritage significance of 43 Donnelly Road, Naremburn and whether Council will proceed with an application for heritage listing.
