Information for applicants
All appointments are made on the basis of merit. This means that recruitment decisions are based on the qualifications, skills and relevant experience of each applicant and not on factors that are irrelevant to the requirements of the position.

How to apply
To apply for a position, you must complete an online application, including all required areas and questions, and attach any requested supporting information.
Interview
Applicants are selected for interview based on the strength of their responses to the questions in the online application and the relevance of their experience, qualifications and skills.
Some roles will require candidates to attend more than one interview to further assess suitability for the role or to demonstrate skills through a practical activity.
Psychometric testing
For some roles, you may be asked to complete an online psychometric test to assist during the recruitment process. These tests may be repeated before or during the probation period for a successful applicant.
Pre-employment checks
Shortlisted applicants may be required to undertake pre-employment background checks before being offered the position. Depending on the position, the following pre-employment checks may be required:
- Working with Children check
- Criminal Records check
- Pre-employment medical check
- Qualification and/or License check
- Right to work in Australia/ Visa check
The applicant will be informed of the type of pre-employment check required for their position at the interview.
Overseas applicants
Council will only consider applications from applicants who have the right to work in Australia. If you are unsure whether you have the right to work in Australia, please contact the Department of Immigration.
