Local Environmental Plan (LEP)
The current Willoughby Local Environmental Plan 2012 (WLEP 2012) was made on 31 January 2013. WLEP 2012 provides the statutory framework for all planning, development and building within the area. The LEP is made up of a written instrument and maps. This document allocates land for specific purposes through zoning and development controls.
The WLEP 2012 also contains provisions to conserve local heritage and protect sensitive land.
During 2022, Council exhibited a comprehensive review of WLEP 2012.
These changes were finalised on 30 June 2023. The LEP name remains the same. Amendment No 34 incorporates the comprehensive changes.
