School programs

Willoughby City Council assists local schools with environmental education that is linked to the NSW school curriculum. The local area boasts significant natural assets and local history; and all our local schools have the unique gift of being in walking distance to a bushland reserve or park.

Activities are designed to be fun, positive and a whole-learning experience for students.

Nature activities offered:

  • Guided bushwalks and outdoor learning experiences
  • High school geography excursions
  • The Willoughby Wildlife Storybook with year 5’s
  • Native plantings and habitat creation (within school grounds)
  • Involvement in Citizen Science student activities

Sustainability activities offered:

Contact the Environment Team to discuss ideas on how your school could participate.
