Art of the Spiritual

Join us for a talk which ponders what it means today to be spiritual, and how the notion of spirituality has changed with time. We trace our way through the Mediterranean and Western Europe, exploring Ancient Greece, Renaissance Venice and fifteenth century Germany along the way, focussing on flagship artworks that have ultimately moulded our modern conception of spirituality. Through an analysis of historically significant artworks, this talk will examine the effect of spirituality and just how important it was—and remains—to society as a whole, and perhaps most fundamentally, to the individual.

The talk will take place in the Creator Space at Chatswood Library.
