Barista foundations course - Spring school holiday program

If you're aged 15-24 and interested in working in cafes, restaurants or bars then you will need barista experience!

Join this friendly introductory workshop to learn:

  • Espresso equipment and workflow.
  • What is espresso.
  • Espresso menu (For example, the difference between cappuccino, flat white and latte).
  • Milk texturing.
  • Hands-on service period which gives you the opportunity to practice the skills you have learnt in a real life, live environment with the support of an experienced barista.

You will also learn transferable skills like customer service, communication and teamwork.

What we love about this workshop is you will also have the opportunity to undertake additional training and gain some valuable work experience through various locations, pop up coffee carts and community events.

Most importantly this will be a fun, engaging and positive experience offering you a taste of what it's like to be a barista and work in the hospitality industry.

Willoughby City Council Youth Services is committed to supporting young peoples employment goals and have subsidised this workshop meaning you only pay 50% of the costs.
