City Nature Challenge - Urban Bushland BioBlitz

MainImage.jpg
From birds and bugs to plants and fungi, let's discover and record the myriad of wild organisms that call this urban bushland home.

In this hands-on activity, you will learn how to use iNaturalist to record observations of wildlife and contribute to citizen science.

Participants joining this event will have the opportunity to:

  • Partake in a biodiversity survey under the guidance of Council's bushland staff.
  • Learn about the many fascinating birds, plants, insects, frogs and other organisms that call Flat Rock Gully home.

No prior experience needed. All you need is your smartphone with the iNaturalist app installed (or a digital camera) and a keen sense of curiosity.

* Meet in the bush car park after turning right at the very end of Small Street, Willoughby, NSW 2068

This event is part of the City Nature Challenge - an annual global citizen science BioBlitz event which takes place between Friday 26 April to Monday 29, 2024.

Over the four-day challenge, we will compete with other cities from around the world to uncover and catalog as many wild animals, plants and fungi as possible.
