Want to know about our amazing bird diversity in Willoughby?

In the leadup to the Aussie Bird Count, we are delighted to host a walk with bird expert and conservation biologist Dr Stanley Tang on in search for some local birds. Discover and learn about the diverse bird life in this beautiful part of Willoughby. Beginner birdwatchers are welcome. Feel free to bring your own binoculars to help see any birds we find.

Bushwalk details

  • The bird walk will start at 9:30am and ends at 11:30am.
  • For those making their own way, we will meet at the end of Willis Road, Castlecove.
  • There is limited parking at the meeting area so you may need to park up the road, near 33 Willis Road. Please refer to the Google map attached.
  • Limited bus pick-up will be available. Please meet at the Dougherty Community Centre carpark (7 Victor Street, Chatswood). Bookings required. The bus will arrive at 9am.
  • Bring a hat, sunscreen and water.
  • Must be fit enough to walk for 2 hours with some rest during the walk.
  • They’ll be some uneven surfaces. Please consider if you are able to do this walk, especially if you have mobility constraints or recently had surgery.
  • Morning tea will be provided around 11:30am (tea, coffee and biscuits) for up to 30 minutes.
  • For those catching the minibus we’ll aim to leave by 12pm be back at the Dougherty Community Centre by 12:30pm.
  • Suitable for adults only. No children or pets allowed.
