The trees of Chatswood CBD

MainImage.jpg
A walk focusing on the trees growing in the heart of Chatswood, followed by an art exhibition by the Tree Veneration Society

Henry Lawson wrote about a place where the 'trees were tall and good' in his poem ‘Chattie’s Wood’ written in 1919. Learn how the trees have changed and the types of trees that now provide shade, texture and colour to Chatswood City. We will explore parks and the main mall area, finishing at a tree art exhibition, ‘Sacred Grove in your street’ in the Concourse, that you can view at your leisure.

Meet outside the Dougherty Community Centre, 7 Victor Street, Chatswood.

Note: Due to limited capacity, registrations are prioritised for Willoughby Council residents. If you aren't a resident, you can email emma.hayes@willoughby.nsw.gov.au to be added on the waitlist, and notified if last minute spots become available.
