Moment seized me, I seized the moment

Seong Cho, Trail XXII, 2016, woodblock print on handmade Korean mulberry paper

Exhibition Dates: 12 - 23 September 2018

An exhibition of printmaking by Seong Cho exploring the nature of the moment and memory.

Every day we experience moments; ephemeral, passing moments and sometimes hauntingly familiar. Through a collection of mainly woodblock prints, Seong Cho explores the nature of the moment and of memory; fleeting and impermanent yet one of meaningful experience, embodied living moments in time. The artist gives form to the impermanent whilst also pays homage to her cultural background and the innate history of the materials used, with the works being printed on traditional Korean mulberry paper and using handmade brushes formed of sticks and leaves from the Australian environment, reflecting on her migrant heritage.
