When would you need this?

Under section 68 of the Local Government Act approval is required to carry out stormwater drainage work, including connecting a site stormwater pipe to a Council stormwater pit or pipe.

Step 1.Fees and charges

  • Payment will be charged on lodgement.
  • Additional fees, including inspection fees, may be payable during assessment and prior to issue of the permit.
  • Check Council's adopted fees and charges.

Step 2.What you will need to provide

• For a new or replacement connection to the Council stormwater system, plans that detail the connection point.
• For works on Council’s drainage system, plans detailing the proposed works.
• If the works are associated with a development application, details of the application that the works are associated with.

Step 4.What happens next

You will receive an application reference number which you can use to track your application. 

You will also be notified once an initial assessment has been made and advised if any additional information is required for assessment or changes are required to the documents.  

When Council is satisfied that the documents meet Council’s requirements you will be advised of any additional fees payable, such as inspection fees.  Once the additional fees have been paid, you will be provided with the approved drawings and associated conditions.
