When would you need this?
If you intend on undertaking construction of works on Council’s infrastructure within the road reserve, including road pavements, footpaths, shared paths, bicycle paths, kerb and gutter, stormwater drainage, street furniture, and raised thresholds. This will generally be associated with conditions of consent for a development application or rectification of damage caused by a builder.
What you need to know
- Works on State roads will require concurrence from Transport for NSW.
- The proposed works and design plans need to comply with Council’s specifications.
- Some works, including pedestrian crossings, may require approval from the voting members of Council’s Local Traffic Committee, which will require additional time.
- Approval is subject to Council's engineer's satisfaction of the proposed works outlined in the submission requirements.
- Payment of assessment fees will be charged on lodgement.
- Additional fees, including inspection fees or rechecking fees, will be payable prior to issue of the approval.
- Check Council's adopted fees and charges.
- Public domain drawings, including plans, sections and details that fully detail the proposed works and are suitable for construction.
- Details of any consent conditions related to the application.
You will receive an application reference number which you can use to track your application.
You will also be notified once an initial assessment has been made and advised if any additional information is required for assessment or changes are required to the documents. Allow a minimum of 3 weeks for the initial review.
When Council is satisfied that the documents meet Council’s requirements, you will be advised of any additional fees payable, such as inspection fees. Once the additional fees have been paid, you will be provided with the approved drawings and associated conditions.
