Cashless parking meters in Willoughby
Willoughby has experienced significant growth in recent years and continues to be a high demand area for workers, students and visitors. On-street cashless and ticketless parking meters are one of the parking provisions used to ease demand for parking and congestion in this growth area.
From July 2024, cashless parking meters will replace the current meters in Willoughby.
Pay By Plate parking allows drivers to park their car, enter their license plate number into the meter with no need to return to their car to display a ticket.
You can pay at the meter and top up your parking using a credit/debit card or with the NSW Government's Park'nPay app and get alerts to indicate when a paid session is soon to expire. This makes paying for parking even easier.
You can download the Park'nPay app on the Apple Store or Google Play Store by visiting parknpay.nsw.gov.au.
Touch the screen to take the meter out of idle.
Type in your licence plate number (vehicle registration) and select the length of time you’d like to park for using the slider bar, then pay by tapping your card.
If you would like a receipt, a QR code will come up on the screen after valid payment confirmation.
Unfortunately, the new parking meters do not accept cash. To pay for a parking session, you can tap your card on the meter’s card reader or by downloading the Park’nPay app or you will need to find alternative parking.
Park’nPay provides a convenient way to make payment and top up for your parking. There is no need to walk up to the meter to pay and you can top up the existing parking session with the app.
No, the meters are ticketless.
After you pay, the screen will display a QR code that you can scan. This will take you to a downloadable version of your receipt.
You can also visit the My Parking Ticket website to download your receipt with your licence plate number and date of purchase.
When paying for a parking session with these new meters, PCI DSS and EMVCo certifications are implemented to protect all payment information.
If the parking meter is not working, report all faults to the fault line on 02 9777 1000 and obtain a reference number. The fault line number is displayed on every meter. Drivers must still obtain a valid session from another meter or via Park’nPay.
