Chatswood Park

Chatswood Park

Total Area: 2.6 ha (including park, playground and sportsground)

Named after the Chatswood Estate of Richard Hayes Harnett (1819-1902). In 1898 Council acquired the land, which had been Chinese market gardens. More land was purchased in 1909, 1914 and 1932. The sports oval has been the home ground of the Gordon (formerly Willoughby) District Cricket Club since 1900 and the Gordon Highlanders (formerly Roseville) Rugby Club since 1936. Chatswood Skate Park was opened in the park 26 January 2001.

Chatswood Oval features an outdoor exercise station, skate park and playground. The fenced playground features a basket swing, wide embankment slide, trampolines, swings and climbing net with slide. It also contains a picnic setting, bench seats and an accessible bubbler.

The park can be accessed from Albert Avenue, Orchard Road, Chapman Avenue or via a pathway under the railway line from the croquet greens between Ellis Street and Gordon Avenue, and is 250m from the Chatswood Bus/Rail Interchange.

Street parking is in demand. Chatswood shopping centre carparks are located a block away from the park.

Please note: Sportsgrounds may be closed during or after wet weather. To check the status of our grounds, check the Ground Closures page or phone the Wet Weather Line on 9777 7631.
