Forsyth Park

Area: 7,447m2

Forsyth Park is a bushland reserve that surrounds the Northbridge Baths, including the carpark off Widgiewa Road. The baths are a combination of Crown and RMS land that is leased by Council. The park was part of land purchased in Northbridge from the Crown by James William Bligh (1810-1869) in 1856. The land surrounding was developed by the North Sydney Investment and Tramway Company Limited in the early 1920s.

Vegetation in the park is classified as Coastal Sandstone Gully Forest with dominant tree species consisting of Angophora costata and Eucalyptus piperita, with a mix of heath and shrub species. It also contains a variety of potential habitats suitable for small reptiles and invertebrates. These include large rock escarpments and outcrops, logs, leaf litter, dense clumps of shrubs, grasses, and herbs.
