Illegal dumping
Report illegal dumping Book a bulky waste collection
Don’t be a Dumper
The Don’t be a Dumper campaign encourages residents to keep their local area clean and safe by booking a free bulky waste collection, and to report any illegally dumped items they find on Willoughby streets.
Illegal dumping is the disposal of large unwanted items in areas not designated for waste collection. Dumping items like furniture, electrical goods, mattresses, and garden waste on public and private land looks bad, harms our environment and our health. It is also considered illegal and anyone caught dumping can be fined $4,000 on the spot.
Council offers three scheduled bulky waste collections and one free booked bulky waste collection from outside your home or apartment per year.
Click Book a bulky waste collection to organise a time with Council to collect your bulky waste.
Click Report illegal dumping to let Council know about any illegally dumped bulky waste.
If you see dumped items or someone illegally dumping, you should report it so we can investigate. Take note of:
- the time, date, and location of the event
- a description of any vehicles involved, including the number plate details
- any further information that may help to identify the offender
