When would you need this?

You can use this form to apply for a residential parking permit if you are a resident of Willoughby and living at an eligible address, and to reapply for an existing permit.

What you need to know:

  • Residential parking permits are valid for 12 months. Residents must use this form to reapply each year.
  • Parking permits need to be affixed to the inside of your car’s front windscreen.
  • When you've completed the online application including payment, you will receive your parking permit by post. Please allow postage time of approximately 10 business days.
  • You must notify and return the permit to Council should you move out of property or an onsite parking space becomes available for use.
  • Depending on your circumstances, changes can be made to your residential parking permit. If you are making changes or replacing a parking permit, please visit the Residential parking permits webpage for more information.
  • You can also apply for a visitors parking permit if you have visitors to your home.

Step 1.Eligibility

  • You live permanently at an eligible address within Willoughby City Council.
  • You own your vehicle and its registration certificate shows your residential address.
  • Your vehicle is not a caravan, box trailer or boat trailer and must not exceed 3 tonnes.
  • A residential parking permit may be issued to a company vehicle, with appropriate documentation.

  • Proof of vehicle registration for all vehicles registered to the property (for example - a current registration certificate issued by Service NSW or a screenshot of the online registration details) (mandatory).
  • If you are the owner: Proof of residential address (for example - utility bill, phone bill, bank statement or council rates notice) (mandatory).
  • If you are a tenant: Copy of lease agreement (mandatory).
  • If it's a company car: Letter from your company (on company letterhead) that states your home address, vehicle registration, confirming that you are a company employee and you have full use of the vehicle (mandatory).

Step 5.What happens next

You will receive an application reference number which you can use to track your application. 

You will also be notified once your application has been processed. Please allow postage time of approximately 10 business days to receive your residential parking permit.
